2021: Fossil Flora

 Fossil Flora Project Summary

In Spring 2021, the Write Climate class worked with the Charlottesville Boys and Girls club with the goal of engaging younger Charlottesville community members with the importance issues of Climate Change and plastic pollution.

The class and the Boys and Girls club members helped create “Fossil Flora,” folded fans of plastic that resemble flowers and other natural flora. The artwork juxtaposes the fossil fuel products that inundate our daily lives and the flora of our natural world that the plastic will inevitably outlive.
